Clinical Massage
Clinical Massage encompasses multiple techniques to achieve a client's optimal wellness. At Blessed Be Mind & Body, what is most important is the client's goal, or outcome of the treatment. What you pay for is your therapist' time. Please read more about the variety of techniques that are offered. Do not hesitate to ask for more information.
  • Swedish Massage
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
  • Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Deep Tissue does not mean deep pressure - intensity is not required for this technique to be successful.
  • Sports Massage (Mobile Only)
Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function.
  • Myofascial Release
Myofascial release is a form of soft tissue therapy intended to eliminate pain, increase range of motion, and rebalance the entire body. It does this by using massage techniques to stretch the fascia and release the bonds that exist between the fascia, muscles and bones. Fascia is the connective tissue that connects and covers all muscles, organs, and skeletal structures of the body. Direct myofascial release is sometimes known as deep tissue work. Indirect release applies light pressure and gently stretches the fascia; this allows for increased blood circulation and relief from pain.
  • Diaphragm Massage (Myofascial Release)
A diaphragm massage (myofascial release) gently stretches the main breathing muscle (diaphragm). This non-invasive technique aims to increase mobility and reduce tension. It relieves chest tightness & fatigue. It may prevent backaches, headaches, digestive issues, and tired legs. The therapist uses gentle hand pressure during breathing exercises. Perfect for singers or athletes!
  • Abdominal Massage
Abdominal massage gently works the muscles and tissues of your belly. Using techniques like light pressure and kneading, it aims to improve digestion, reduce bloating and constipation, and ease tension. It can also enhance blood circulation and promote relaxation throughout the body. This gentle therapy may benefit those with digestive discomfort or post-surgical scar tissue. Those with medical conditions or concerns should consult a doctor first.
  • TMJ Massage (non-intraoral or intraoral)
TMJ massage is a specialized massage technique that focuses on relieving tension in the muscles and soft tissues around the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). The TMJ is a complex joint that controls chewing and jaw movement. TMJ massage can help with a range of symptoms including: tenderness in the TMJ; difficulty moving your jaw; jaw pain; headaches; tooth pain; difficulty eating, speaking, and sleeping; chronic facial pain. The term "intraoral" refers to a technique where a therapist uses their fingers inside the client's mouth to target and manipulate the muscles surrounding theTMJ, aiming to relieve pain and tension associated with TMJ dysfunction. Intraoral is not required to treat the TMJ; but if done, gloves are used.
  • Shiatsu-Style Massage (Mobile Only)
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of massage therapy. The word Shiatsu comes from two Japanese words - “shi” (finger) and “atsu” (pressure). In addition to the direct stimulation of pressure points along the energy pathways of your body, gentle stretching techniques are applied over a wider area of the body to integrate the point work and encourage the flow of Chi (energy) throughout the body. Shiatsu is a meditative healing art that honors the body, mind and spirit - many who practice it take years to master the art. For massage purposes, stretching and range-of-motion techniques are used throughout the treatment and it is done with the client fully clothed.
Massage Add-Ons
Perfect way to enhance your therapy session.
  • Dynamic Cupping (Mobile Only)
Dynamic cupping is a unique massage technique that utilizes suction cups to gently lift the skin and underlying tissues. Unlike traditional massage, which primarily pushes on the muscles, dynamic cupping creates a pulling action, effectively mobilizing fascia. Fascia is a connective tissue that surrounds and supports all the structures within the body. By gently pulling on the fascia, dynamic cupping can help to improve circulation, reduce muscle tension, and alleviate pain. The sensation of dynamic cupping is unlike any other massage experience, offering a unique blend of deep tissue work and gentle suction. Due to its ability to address deep-seated issues and promote overall relaxation, dynamic cupping is a perfect add-on to any massage service, enhancing the therapeutic benefits and providing a truly transformative experience.
Reiki Therapy (Available at HOHM & Mobile)
Reiki is a Japanese form of energy work that cleanses and balances the energy system in the body. As a result, the body's natural self-healing mechanisms strengthen, helping to establish optimum health. Reiki utilizes a gentle laying on of hands which is very similar to the holding technique in clinical massage. The benefits of Reiki range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress to alleviating chronic pain. Some rare side-effects from reiki include but are not limited to feeling heat in areas if your body, or a phenomenon called phantom hands in which you feel that there are four hands rather than two gently placed around your body during the session.
